The good...

It was flatmate, Liz's birthday on Saturday. She was away on a camp all day until late so jo and I spent the entire day planning this whole big surprise for her. We had decided that we would fill her room with balloons and leave her present in there for her. First we had to tidy her room, so at least she would be able to find her stuff and everything wasn't still on the floor under all the balloons. Here is the final result:

Jo made a kick ass chocolate cake and iced it like a soccer pitch. She did an awesome job:

We got Lizzie an electric blanket. We put the blanket on her bed so it was nice and toasty for her when she got home. She has been finding it a little cold since she got back from home. Look how excited she is!

So, Lizzie came home about 10:30. Jo and I had turned off all the lights and we hid in the kitchen when we heard her come up the stairs, then when she opened her bedroom door and saw the balloons, we brought the cake out singing happy birthday. It was so exciting. Lizzie said it was the best birthday ever!
