#3 Oregon

The third state on my list is Oregon.

In Astoria I can see the house from the Goonies. I had wondered whether I could find the same point of coastline where they line up the medallion with the rocks to find One-Eyed Willy's pirate ship but that might be a long shot.

Also the climatic final scene of Free Willy was filmed at the Hammond Mooring Basin in Astoria. "Jump Willy! Jump!!!"

I have a lot of things to do in Portland. One of my favourite Angelina Jolie movies is Foxfire which was filmed in Portland. There are a couple of filming locations I want to see, these being Lincoln High School and the Broadway Bridge:

I don't know if you can climb on the bridge like Angelina does in the movie, it would be cool though. There is also this really cool old house in the movie but I doubt that it exists.

I also take the recommendations of this interesting blog I found one day to visit Sesame Donuts and to ride the bus.

Whenever I meet people from the States I always make a point of asking them things they recommend in their home state. Jono's friend from Oregon recommended that I go see an I-Max movie, I visit the Spruce Goose (thank you Howard Hughes) and I visit the beautiful Columbia Gorge:

I met a guy from Portland a couple of weeks ago, here on a uni exchange. Apparently Portland has the 7th best business school on the West Coast of the USA!
Now that I did not know!

I saw today that the next OUSA outdoor movie is 'The Goonies'! Can't remember the date though.

I'm from Oregon, born and raised.
I lived between the coast and Salem the most.
I can tell you, there are 1000's of great things to do from
one side to the other, and top to bottom.
As well as the neighboring states.
Oh, and I was an extra in Foxfire.
