Saturday Rambling

I'm tired. It is kind of weird that I am tired. I've been tired all week, it makes no sense to be tired on a working week that is one day shorter than every other. But I did have a few late nights. On Monday, Laura invited me to Changeling at Rialto as a fundraiser one of her client families were having to take their little girl to the States for stem cell research (http://www.darylann.co.nz/). What a wee cutie! The movie was very good, I am a fan of Angelina Jolie's work, it was very well-done, very heartwrenching. Wednesday was another fundraiser movie, Goodbye Lenin for Laura's Relay For Life team. On Tuesday I got together with Jesse to practice some 1930s jazz for a friend's upcoming 30th, very fun. OK so maybe I am also tired after 8 hours of cricket last night, I went round to my local again and I may be a local at my local (I am now on first name basis with the bartender and two other locals). Good match, the Black Caps pulled out another win, I still will not win the office sweepstakes but at least my team didn't lose even if my individual players weren't great. My flatmates joined me for the last couple of overs then we came home and decided to watch Freaky Friday which made it after 2am before getting to bed. I was the first up this morning. I'm always the first up but I like it, it's quiet, I have the illusion of having the house to myself.

I got my haircut this morning. I walked to Dowling street, it takes about 45 minutes. I listen to my iPod. Emily put a whole bunch of music on the G:/ drive at work the other day and I made a playlist, it's random, from Deftones to Soundgarden to Counting Crows to Cypress Hill to Roxette to Nirvana to Burt Bacharach to Audrey Hepburn... but I'm a random kind of person. Some times I don't like how much these things intrude on our lives though. People used to write letters, then no one wrote letters they sent emails, now no one sends emails they just add you as a friend on Facebook. How many little interactions do we miss everyday just walking from A to B cos we're plugged into the iPod, off in our own little worlds?

Krisandra is an artist. It's very short at the back... like clipper short with one copper tail left on the right side. I love the way it feels. It looks edgey. I can't wait for my next 6 week appointment and a change of colour.

I walked home via the one-way south, it seemed like the more direct route. My friend Andrew works for Jackie's Rent A Car so I called in to say hi. We watched the beginning of Madagascar 2 on the computer but Andrew had to take a car out to the airport so he dropped me off at the flat.

I had a healthy lunch of pancakes and I put some chicken in the slow cooker for dinner. Our oven is mysteriously broken so we have to make do, that and chicken seems to be the only food we have at the moment. Sarah put the flat EFT POS card in "the container" before she went away and no one can find it or remember the PIN number so we make do.

I fell asleep in front of Gilmore Girls and it was suddenly 5:30. The smell of chicken is drifting up the stairs and it smells divine. I am making mashed potatoes because I don't really feel like rice and there needed to be something to accompany the random Italian BBQ chicken casserole creation I have made and I am going to put cheese in it, cos I can!
